Close up termites or white ants

When our home inspectors are performing home inspections we sometimes see evidence of pests. For example, we check attics and crawl spaces for mice, bats and hornet nests. Additional pest inspections can also be performed if there is a concern about the possibility of termites or other wood destroying insects infesting the home or building (depending on your location pest inspections are required for VA loans)

Depending on the area of the country, this service has different names and is sometimes referred to as termite inspections, pest inspections, wood-destroying insect inspections (WDI), or wood-destroying organism inspections (WDO).

Regardless of what this inspection is called, it is a relatively inexpensive service that could potentially save you thousands of dollars on repairs while also making sure your structure is safe. VA loans are known to require these inspections. ValueCheck is certified to perform these inspections and provide the paperwork required by the mortgage company.

This inspection involved checking the exterior of the home, the foundation, also the garage and crawl space, around porches, connecting patios, door and window frames, and hard-to-see places. The inspector will visually inspect and may also tap or probe susceptible wood.
